Ella Hernandez is a visual artist and graphic designer for over 20 years. She was born in Davao City, Philippines where she lived during her formative years. She immigrated to the United States and landed in Houston, TX in 1992. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Communication-Advertising and a Minor in Studio Art from the University of Houston. Her love and curiosity for art keep her moving and exploring various styles and techniques. Ella burns her culture into her pieces in intricate patterns and combines it with bright colors. As an immigrant identifying her spice in a melting pot, she shares the beauty of the Filipino culture through her work. Aside from her design background, she keeps a home studio where she finds new ways to tell people’s stories. She has participated in solo shows, group shows, and art festivals.
