ELLA HERNANDEZ

Ella Hernandez is a visual artist and seasoned graphic designer with over 20 years of creative experience. Originally from Davao City, Philippines, she immigrated to the United States in 1992 and has called Houston, Texas home ever since. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication–Advertising and a Minor in Studio Art from the University of Houston.

Her professional background spans a wide range of design work—from branding and marketing campaigns to print and digital media. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with agencies, businesses, and organizations to bring ideas to life through thoughtful, visually compelling designs. 

 

Ella’s artwork is a vibrant reflection of her Filipino heritage and personal journey. She combines intricate patterns with bold color palettes to tell stories rooted in culture, identity, and lived experience. As an immigrant, she uses her creative voice to celebrate diversity and to share the richness of Filipino traditions in a modern context.

In addition to her design work, Ella creates from her home studio, constantly exploring new styles and techniques. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows, as well as in community art festivals across Houston.
